Get to know the history of Beijing (one-day local tour)
Schedule: Great Wall+Hot Pot+Cloosonne Factory+Ming Tomb & Sacred Way+Foot Massage
Morning pick up and visit The Great Wall (Juyong Section)
The Great Wall of China, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was enlisted in the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China.
Lunch enjoy the Hot Pot lunch in Jin Dian Restaurant & visit Cloisonn¨¦ Factory
The hot pot is a delicious and hearty choice. Families or groups of friends sit around a table and eat from a steaming pot in the middle, cooking and drinking and chatting. Eating hot pot is not a passive activity: diners must select morsels of prepared raw food from plates scattered around the table, place them in the pot, wait for them to cook, fish them out of the soup, dip them in the preferred sauce, and then eat them hot, fresh, and tender.
Cloisonn¨¦ first developed in the Near East. It spread to the Byzantine Empire and from there along the Silk Road to China. Chinese cloisonne is arguably the most well known of all the varieties of cloisonne and enamel making. It is sometimes confused with Canton enamel, a similar type of enamel work that is painted on freehand and does not utilize partitions to hold the colors separate. In the Cloisonn¨¦ factory, we could see all the making process.
In the afternoon, visit Ming Tomb & Sacred Way
The Ming Dynasty Tombs are located some 50 kilometers due north of urban Beijing at a specially selected site. From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. The site of the Ming Dynasty Imperial Tombs was carefully chosen according to Feng Shui principles. A seven kilometer road named the "Sacred Way" leads into the complex, lined with statues of guardian animals and officials, with a front gate consisting of a three-arch, painted red, and called the "Great Red Gate". It starts with a huge stone memorial archway lying at the front of the area. Constructed in 1540, during the Ming Dynasty, this archway is one of the biggest stone archways in China today.
After back to city, Relax and enjoy 90 minutes Chinese Foot Reflexology Massage
Chinese Foot Reflexology Massage: Just as the heart can be described as your body's engine, so can your feet can be seen as the shock absorbers taking up to 15,000 steps every day and about 70,000 miles in a lifetime. In the East, the sole of the foot is seen to contain all the acupuncture points (reflex points) which are connected to every part of your body through 300 nerves, thus affecting the condition of the whole. The practice of foot reflexology is not only very relaxing but stimulates vital functions, eliminates toxins, improves blood circulation and soothes people of nervous dispositions.
